Name/rank: Airman 1st Class Aldrin Alarcon
Squadron: 436th Civil Engineer Squadron
Job description: Structural journeyman
Dream assignment and why? I dream of attaining a special duty assignment overseas, such as the Philippines or another nation that requires a humanitarian cause mission. I know that we are the best in the Air Force, and I would like to contribute those attributes by sharing my technical skills and impact the globe for a better cause.
Family: My beautiful wife, Casey; my three dogs, Rocky, Bentley and Koda; The Alarcon, Eick and Byron families; and friends and co-workers here at Dover Air Force Base, Del.
Favorite movie: "Saving Private Ryan"
Favorite food: Filipino cuisine
Favorite book: "Lord of the Flies"
Who inspires you? My family. They have always been there for me no matter the circumstance. They always find a way to push me to be the best that I can be. Every morning when I put on my uniform, I look in the mirror to reflect, and I think of all of my loved ones for whom I would sacrifice everything in order to protect their liberty and their pursuit of happiness.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? My future is bright. I want to see my career elevate in the Air Force. I want to see personal growth, and become a leader one day who can provide an on-going positive influence for our future Airmen.

Airmen 1st Class Aldrin Alarcon has continually displayed his leadership and technical abilities as a structural apprentice assigned to the "best civil engineer squadron" in the Air Force. Alarcon led a three-person team in anchoring 52 equipment items in the Fitness Center, providing safe and efficient equipment use. He also was instrumental in upgrading the USO headquarters latrine facility, providing a much needed facelift to a dilapidated area. Finally, while assigned as a member of the honor guard, Alarcon flawlessly served 49 details covering three states and 12,000 miles, serving with honor and respect to all.
