Where do you see yourself in 10 years? As a squadron commander, doing everything I can to make the Air Force even greater than it is now.
2nd Lt. David J. Geaney served as an important member of the Emergency Operations Center during Dover Air Force Base, Del., preparation, ride-out and recovery operations for Superstorm Sandy. He worked over 40 hours as the 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron Emergency Support Function, facilitating the information flow necessary to ensure transportation, fuel, supply and vehicle maintenance support throughout the storm and its aftermath. Furthermore, when Dover AFB was identified as a Base Support Installation for post-storm recovery, Geaney quickly stepped up to the challenge of serving as one of two primary liaisons between Federal Emergency Management Agency, Northern Command, Air Forces Northern, and the 167th Theatre Sustainment Command. In this capacity, he briefed the wing commander and vice wing commander multiple times and served as Dover AFB's direct line to all external agencies. His diligence and expert coordination were key to ensuring Dover AFB remained "ready to roll!"
