Chief Master Sgt. Timothy M. Bayes is the Command Chief, 436th Airlift Wing, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. He serves as the principal advisor to the commander on matters of welfare, readiness, morale and effective deployment of more than 2,800 enlisted members of the combined C-5 and C-17 wing, providing worldwide movement of high priority personnel and cargo. Dover AFB is home to Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations, the Department of Defense’s largest aerial port and the Air Mobility Command Museum.
Chief Bayes is a native of Newton, Kansas, and enlisted in the Air Force in March 2000, as a Structures Technician. His background includes various positions both in civil engineering and Air Force special duties. He has performed as a Structural Technician, Structures Technical School Instructor, Prime BEEF Manager, First Sergeant, Operations Flight Superintendent, Operations Flight Chief as well as a squadron and group Superintendent.
His previous assignments include bases in Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, Washington, Italy and Wyoming. He has deployed in support of operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Superintendent, 6th Mission Support Group, MacDill AFB, Florida.
