DEFY

Led by nearly 20 adult volunteer mentors, 35 Dover Team youth participated in the seven-day Drug Education for Youth, Phase 1 Leadership Camp at Chapel 2 at Dover Air Force Base, June 18 – 26. The children, ages 9 – 12, participated in two Presidential Fitness Challenges, workshops, academic studies, a field trip to the City of Dover Police Station and the base control tower and a flightline tour of a C-5 Galaxy. During Phase II, adult mentors stay involved in the lives of the children in their mentorship groups for an entire year – from checking in on schoolwork and grades, to phone calls and activities.
