Dover gets C-5A for AMC Museum
C-5A Galaxy, serial # 69-0014, taxis in to park at Dover Air Force Base to complete its' transfer from the Tennessee Air National Guard's 164th Airlift Wing to its' new home at the Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover, August 7, 2013. Zero-One-Four was assigned to Dover from 1973-1977 and during that time was the platform aircaft for the first and only inter-continental ballistic missile launch from a cargo aircraft in-flight. The C-5 Galaxy is the largest transport in the U.S. military and the Lockheed built aircraft is the first Galaxy to be retired to a museum open to the public. (U.S. Air Force photo/Greg L. Davis)
