Marines assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 conduct counter-improvised explosive device training during the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 2-17 near Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., April 14, 2017. This training educated the Marines on how to properly identify IEDs and the steps to take after finding one. WTI is a seven week training course hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1 designed to provide standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications that support Marine Aviation training and readiness and to provide assistance in the development and employment of aviation weapons and tactics.
