A base-wide active shooter major accident response exercise will be conducted by the 436th Airlift Wing Nov. 15th here.

The exercise will be conducted within the base and its training areas. All base personnel will participate, and base visitors could be treated as participants during the exercise.

Base residents and guests should expect delays of customer service and possible gate closures. Furthermore, there may be simulated explosions, smoke, emergency responders and role-players with simulated injuries during the exercise - these are not cause for alarm.

Individuals who experience an actual emergency or incident during the exercise should continue to report to the appropriate on- or off-base agencies.

"The safety of base personnel and community members is our top priority during this exercise," said Col. Rick Moore, commander of the 436th AW. "Exercises like this allow us to hone our skills so that we may better serve our community. We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation."

Should you have any questions pertaining to the exercise, please contact the Dover Air Force Base Public Affairs Office at (302) 677-3372.
