Eight Team Dover members are being coined for their participation in the Air Force Arts and Crafts Gallery Showcase.

The showcase, which was open to all members of Team Dover, had three categories: Youth 6-12, Youth 13-17 and Adults. The submissions selected at the base-level were forwarded to Air Mobility Command and those were forwarded to Air Force level for submission into the showcase.

There was a limit of three entries per participant for each category, allowing for six total submissions.

"This really isn't a contest, it's really just about showing the creativity of our members," said Linda Sperry, 436th Force Support Squadron marketing director. "We were so excited to see that one of our people was selected for a coin, we tried to keep it a secret from her, to keep it a surprise."

Submissions were due August to October 2009, and then forwarded to major commands by mid-November. Those selections picked by each MAJCOM would be forwarded to the Air Force level gallery in December.

"It was really quite a shock to have been selected for a coin," said April Crampton, 436th FSS marketing assistant. "It is an honor to be recognized for my pictures. I love when I happen to get a great shot. Of course, that is when I want everyone to see those pictures. I entered three photographs: Alexander on Trike, Barker's Landings and Crocus."

Dover Air Force Base, Del., submitted 16 pieces, and AMC submitted 494. The Team Dover members who submitted pieces and are being coined are:

· April Crampton
· Lynnsay Erskine
· Shondra Throne
· Patricia Walker
· Bailey Pittman
· Shana Pittman
· Eric Livesay
· Elaine Barron
