From the words of Frank Sinatra, who sang the lyrics, "Love and marriage, it's an institute you can't disparage."

Team Dover couples thinking of their own love that may lead to marriage have the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to have a successful matrimony through a pre-marriage seminar.

Chaplain (Capt.) Richard Rojas, 436th Airlift Wing, will lead the Dover Air Force Base Chapel sponsored seminar July 7.

"Though there is never a guarantee of a successful marriage, this seminar will give the person insight into the steps it will take to continually work on a relationship so the marriage has a greater potential for success," said Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Timothy Sturgill, 436th AW Head Chaplain.

Chaplain Sturgill said anyone thinking of getting married in the near future and would like to know more about the intricacies of building a relational platform for a successful marriage is welcome to attend the interactive group.

The Chapel offers this faith-based program for building a successful marriage through integrating relationship principles with faith principles.

Chaplain Rojas will present some of the following information:

1. The essence and purpose of marriage

2. Love - its nature and forms

3. Communication

4. Roles in relationship

5. Conflict resolution

"The divorce rate in America continues to be astronomical. It is obvious many people do not have the knowledge and skills to cultivate relationships to endure the bad with the good for the long term," said Chaplain Sturgill. "If you want to give your marriage the best possible chance of success, attend a pre-marriage seminar or seek pre-marital counseling."

The Chapel offers marriage seminars throughout the year. For information or to sign up for a pre-marriage seminar class, call 677-3932.
