The Dover Fitness Center in conjunction with the YMCA is offering personal training services to Team Dover members.

The personal trainers are available in 3, 6 and 12 sessions at varying rates to anyone with a Department of Defense ID card.

"The personal training is done here at the Dover Fitness Center," said John Murray, 436th Force Support Squadron fitness program manager. "That gives our customers the convenience of working out on base and avoids a membership fee with the YMCA to get personal training."

The YMCA currently has four trainers that work at the Dover Fitness Center.

"Everyone is going to be different on who they get along with and what their needs are," said Michael Davis, YMCA Health and Wellness director. "One of the first things that trainers are taught is how to build rapport with the client. We need to make sure the customers are comfortable with the trainers and we are helping them reach their goals."

The personal trainers are available during most Fitness Center operating hours, including weekends.

"Customers can do perform one to three sessions per week," said Mr. Murray. "The trainers work with the customers to try and create a good plan to reach their goals."

Team Dover members interested in hiring a personal trainer should talk with a 436th Force Support Squadron member at the Fitness Center front desk.
