HMO helps Team Dover move Published Feb. 17, 2010 By Airman 1st Class Matthew Hubby 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The Housing Management Office is the government liaison for housing privatization and a point of contact for new members arriving to Dover AFB. The HMO helps provide information for off-base housing for servicemembers, as well as provide individual counseling and personal attention to servicemembers' specific housing requirements. "We are their guide to the most suitable housing for their needs," said Reba Morris, 436th Civil Engineer Squadron housing management assistant. "We provide referral services to Hunt and maintain information on available housing in the local area for rent or purchase." The HMO partners with Hunt to provide base housing information to incoming servicemembers prior to their arrival via email or mailed packages. Permanent change of station members who desire to live on base in privatized housing can also apply for housing in advance through the HMO. "The HMO offers many services to assist our members," said Ray Couey, 436th CES housing and base asset manager. "We provide installation information, furniture and appliance rental and purchase information, recreational brochures, mortgage and realtor information, new home builders, veteran assistance loan information, and school and neighborhood information. We review leases and offer guidance in understanding the Delaware State Landlord and Tenant Code and Servicemember Civil Relief Act." The HMO also offers assistance with the Homeowners Assistance Program as well as mediating between landlords and tenants in both privatized housing and off-base. They offer government-paid move orders for members who reside off-base and are moving into privatized housing. They will also assist PCSing members in filing housing applications in advanced of arriving at their next assignment. "We are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday," said Ms. Morris. "We're located at building 1069 on High Street in base housing. We always welcome people coming in to ask questions, or they can call us at 677-6969."
