Housing Web site makes finding homes quick, simple Published March 9, 2010 By Airman 1st Class Matthew Hubby 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The Housing Management Office at Dover Air Force Base offers many programs to assist servicemembers in finding the right home when they arrive at Dover. The Automated Housing Referral Network www.ahrn.com is one such program that the HMO offers to help servicemembers looking for a place to live. The AHRN is a Web site that shows the properties that are available so no time is wasted calling contacts on places that have already been rented. "Looking for homes on the internet is how 21st Century Airmen do their shopping," said Ray Couey, 436th Civil Engineer Squadron housing and base asset manager. "It's great to have this resource available to help our members find housing." AHRN is a Department of Defense sponsored site for all branches of the military. It has search features such as detailed descriptions, pictures and maps. "The website makes searching for available housing at your current or next assignment so much easier," said Reba Morris, 436th CES housing management assistant. "The entire family can get involved in looking for their new home. We strongly encourage landlords and rental management companies to list their properties on our website so we can have as many options as possible for our members." Servicemembers can also send the contact on the listing an email message easily via the link to ask specific questions about their property. The HMO uses only this site to locate rentals or to advertise available properties in the area.
