Commander's Action Line: Thank you to operator 6 Published July 29, 2008 436th Airlift Wing DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Q: I'm calling to commend the experience I had with Dover Air Force Base Operator 6, when I called for help with a question. My father told me he was going to be in a danger zone for several days, and I became extremely concerned. I didn't hear from him, so when I missed a call with a strange number on my phone, I was concerned it was a call letting us know that something happened. I called the number and Operator 6 told me that everything would be okay and it was most likely my father calling to let me know that everything was okay. Operator 6 was really nice, very warm, very friendly and extremely helpful. It's good to know you can wake up worried or decide to make a call at three in the morning, and someone is on the other end very vibrant, wide awake and willing to help in every way possible to assure you and help you understand the nature of the call that was received. A: Thanks for the great feedback -- I love to hear stories of Team Dover members doing a great job with no one watching. In fact, this situation is not terribly uncommon and all our operators do a fantastic job of responding courteously, professionally and compassionately. I had the honor of coining Operator 6 for his fantastic work.
