The Abilene Trophy was established in 1999 to recognize the community that best supports an Air Mobility Command base each calendar year. The Abilene Trophy was given to the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affaire Committee as a way to feature the outstanding support they provide Airmen, their families and the combat airlift mission. Loadmasters from the 9th AS coordinated cargo with Airmen from Air Education and Training Command’s 49th Wing and Air Force Materiel Command’s 635th Materiel Maintenance Group to complete the 10-day MSTT.
