North Carolina National Guard
July 25, 2020 | 15:33
WWII veterans of the 30th Infantry Division were honored during a ceremony at the North Carolina National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 25, 2020. The event celebrated the unit finally receiving the Presidential Unit Citation for their heroic actions during the Battle of Mortain in France during WWII. A parade was held outside to show appreciation and included recanters, the Patriot Guard, and military vehicles. During the ceremony held inside the Presidential Unit Citation streamer was officially added to the 30th Infantry Division colors, which now belong to the 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team. Interviews of Col. Wes Morrison, North Carolina National Guard Chief of Staff and WWII veteran Tony Jaber. (Video by Staff Sgt. Mary Junell)
