Army Reserve Medical Soldiers Provide Care for Selma Residents

Army Reserve soldiers of the 7217th Medical Support Unit and other assisting units, are providing free health services for the Delta Regional Authority in Selma, Alabama, and nearby townships, as part of their West Black Belt Innovative Readiness Training. Services include custom fitted eye-wear and dentistry procedures, as well as education on future care. The 7217th as well as other units both reserve and active duty, were also in nearby Demopolis and Camden including Selma, for two weeks, offering care all day for anyone who would show up without regard for socio-economic status or healthcare coverage.
