KS 25 | VMFA-312 arrives at Komatsu Air Base

U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18C and a F/A-18D Hornet aircraft with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 312, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, receive fuel during exercise Keen Sword 25, at Japan Air Self-Defense Force Komatsu Air Base, Japan, Oct. 28, 2024. VMFA-312 is temporarily augmenting MAG-12, 1st MAW under the Unit Deployment Program, which aims to provide squadrons stationed in the continental United States with experience training in the Indo-Pacific. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Forces personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the iron-clad U.S.-Japan alliance.
