U.S. Marines and civilians with the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab and 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment begin their experiments with the Legged Squad Support System (LS3) at the Kahuku Training Area on the island of Oahu in Hawaii on June 10, 2014. The experiment and employment of 3/3 to use the LS3 is part of the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014 exercise and the Advanced Warfighting Experiment. There are multiple technologies being tested during RIMPAC, the largest maritime exercise in the Pacific region. This year's RIMPAC features 22 countries and around 25,000 people.
