President Harry S. Truman announces the surrender of Nazi Germany to the Allied powers on May 8, 1945. Airmen of the 2nd Bombardment Group played an integral part in stopping the advance of the Nazi's. The mission of world peace continues on in the hands of the 2nd Bombardment Group's successor, the 2nd Bomb Wing.
