Well Deck Operations Between USS Iwo Jima, USS Mesa Verde

Sailors assigned to Assault Craft Unit 2 conduct well deck operations between the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) and the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19). This video includes scenes showing the ramp of a Landing Craft Unit (LCU) lowering and water containers being loaded aboard the LCU. Mesa Verde was relieved by Iwo Jima as the lead Navy support ship for humanitarian aid/disaster relief missions in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. (U.S. Navy video by Petty Officer 2nd Class Hunter S.
