U.S. Marines with 2d Battalion, 2d Marines conduct a combat insertion greater than 600 miles via MV-22B Ospreys operated by Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262, from mainland Japan to Okinawa, July 26, 2021. Marines demonstrated the ability to seize key maritime terrain and establish expeditionary advanced bases on remote islands, as part of a series of integrated drills to maintain regional security and a high state of readiness. 2/2 is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marines, 3d Marine Division.
