The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117) conducts flight deck firefighting in the Baltic Sea in support of exercise Baltic Operations 2025 (BALTOPS 25) in the Baltic Sea, June 9, 2025. BALTOPS 25 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Navy Forces Europe/Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet and command-and-controlled by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
