F/V Bulldog releases cables and net during Coast Guard boarding
U.S. Coast Guard District 1
May 31, 2014 | 1:35
Crewmembers of fishing vessel Bulldog work on the deck and tending cables during a Coast Guard boarding on May 31, 2014 off the coast of Massachusetts. Thomas Simpson, the master of the vessel, disregarded orders from the Coast Guard boarding officer and released his fishing nets completely from the vessel, allowing the nets to sink. Under heavy strain when released, the cables snapped across the stern of the vessel, nearly striking the Coast Guard boarding team and the Bulldog crew. (U.S. Coast Guard video)
