Time lapse of Edisto's double engine replacement
U.S. Coast Guard District 11 PADET San Diego
Jan. 7, 2013 | 2:32
SAN DIEGO – The crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Edisto, engineers from Coast Guard Sector San Diego, and a Navy rigging team complete the replacement of both of the Edisto’s main diesel engines at Naval Base San Diego during November and December 2012.
The unscheduled replacement was completed in 24 days of labor after it was determined that the cutter’s existing engines were becoming increasingly unreliable. U.S. Coast Guard video by Petty Officer 1st Class Henry G. Dunphy.
