Organizations with a commitment to resilience implement frontline teamwork skills and tools to optimize ongoing dynamic situational awareness, problem solving, and adaptation to changing demands. These teams develop capabilities to detect, contain, and bounce back from inevitable errors.

To help put this and other High Reliability Guiding Principles into practice, the Military Health System assembled a set of evidence-based strategies called the Leadership Engagement Toolkit. One specific practice that helps organizations to maintain a commitment to resilience is Harm-Reduction Rounding Checklists and Evidence-Based Guidelines.

We encourage you to consider how you can use harm-reduction rounding checklists and evidence-based guidelines at your facility to demonstrate a commitment to resilience and foster a safety culture, moving it one step closer toward the goal of becoming a high reliability organization.
