Oct. 17, 2011 | 1:31
Nearly forty thousand U.S. troops still have to leave Iraq, and many of them will fly for home out of Sather Air Base in Baghdad. So how do several thousand Sather Airmen maintain airfield operations, when they too need to pack up and exit the country by December 31st? Air Force Sgt. Gene Taylor says the answer lies in the use of tactical communications. Includes soundbites from Capt. David Cox, lead engineer, 353rd CBCS, from State College, Pa.; Maj. Tracy Parrish, commander, 353rd CBCS, from Kilgore, Texas; Senior Airman Ernest Leon, cyber transport technician, 353rd CBCS, from Orlando, Fla. 353rd CBCS home base is Robins AFB, Ga.
