U.S. Army 1LT Astin Villarreal, 15th Engineer Battalion and italian Army 1LT Pietro Arturo Treccagnoli, 3rd Company 2nd Engineer Regiment, talk about exercise Livorno Shock, held Oct. 23, 2016, at Leghorn Army Depot in Livorno, Italy. Livorno Shock is a combined readiness exercise led by the Italian army's 2nd Engineer Regiment Pontieri and is designed to familiarize U.S. Army paratroopers with river crossing tactics, techniques and procedures. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe providing rapidly deploying forces to the U.S. Army Europe, Africa, and Central Command areas of responsibility within 18 hours. The brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build stronger relationships and strengthen the alliance. (Video by Vincenzo Vitiello/released)
