Don't rely on classroom instruction alone to educate your kids about sex. Parents who are silent on the subject are sending a message to their kids. Open and honest conversation, as awkward as it may be, can set the stage for a lifetime of healthy sexuality. Teri Nelsen, an IACH licensed clinical marriage and family therapist, says that sex education is an ongoing conversation with kids that begins when they're babies.
