Sgt. 1st Class Mikal Barnes, a Soldier assigned to Task Force Raider, 5th Armored Brigade, First Army Division West, shares his story on how he fought back from suicide as a young Soldier in support of Operation Ironclad at Fort Bliss, Texas, May 14, 2021. Barnes shared his story to encourage and inform people who are thinking of committing suicide to seek help and how to seek help in support of operation ironclad. Operation ironclad is designed to create an environment that is non-permissive of the three harmful behaviors including suicide, sexual assault/ harassment, any form of discrimination in the military.
