240716-N-ME988-1001 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (July 16, 2024) A landing craft, air cushion assigned to Assault Craft Unit 4 approaches the welldeck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), July 13, 2024, in the Mediterranean Sea. Wasp is conducting operations in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations as the flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)-24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC). The WSP ARG-24th MEU (SOC) supports high-end warfighting exercises while demonstrating speed and agility operating in a dynamic security environment.
