The 56th annual Combined Federal Campaign is scheduled to kick off Nov. 15 at Dover Air Force Base, Del., and will continue until Dec. 15, 2017.

The kickoff event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the USO, located within the base passenger terminal. There will be CFC representatives, base leadership and local charities speaking at the event on the benefits of donating to charity.

“The CFC is an opportunity for federal employees to engage in a program that promotes and supports philanthropy in a quest to improve the quality of life for all," said Capt. Harold Brown, the installation CFC representative. “This is Team Dover’s chance to reciprocate the support that is given to us year round from thousands of charities across the globe and our local community.”

The CFC is the largest workplace charity campaign in the world and has raised more than $8 billion since its establishment in 1961. The CFC includes over 20,000 local, national and international charities, which can range from home-grown groups to well-known charities.

Each group on base has a CFC representative assigned to them and additional individuals within the squadrons. These representatives can provide more information on CFC and accept donations.

There are some changes this year to how donations can be made. MyPay will no longer take donations directly from paychecks and no cash donations will be accepted. Paper pledge forms and the CFC website can be used to make a donation through payroll deductions.

Donations can be made by filling out a paper pledge form or by logging in and donating on the official CFC website at cbacfc.org.
