For residents of Dover Air Force Base, Del., promoting quality of life on base is a shared endeavor. For three years, the annual Caring for People Forum has presented the service members, spouses, dependents and retirees who share this responsibility a chance to take charge of base issues affecting their daily lives. This year's forum will take place 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. April 26 at Chapel 2 here.

The topics being addressed include support single Airmen and parents; social, mental, physical and spiritual resiliency; family, school and teenager support; health and wellness; and reserve support. These were the issues deemed most important by Air Mobility Command based on feedback received through the forum. The comments, questions and concerns raised during the forum may be forwarded to the base, major command and Air-Force level for resolution. For Team Dover, the forum gives people a chance to make real change where they feel it matters.

"The Caring for People Forum allows for fluid communication from base residents to Air Force leadership which, in turn, creates real-world improvement," said Sue Holliday, director of the Airman & Family Readiness Center and a lead coordinator for Dover AFB's CFP Forum. "The service members, family members and retirees are closest to the issues that need to be addressed, so they are in the best position to take charge of what affects them."

Approximately 75 people came out in support of the forum last year; more are encouraged to participate this year. To attend, contact Maj. Julie Johnson at 677-2795 or Sue Holliday at 677-6933.

"If something is truly on your mind, come and share it with the Forum - you can make a difference," said Holliday. "With a group of empowered participants, Team Dover can take charge of the future of their base."
