Airman of the Week: Airman 1st Class Gregory Adams Published June 6, 2011 By 436th Airlift Wing DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Name/rank: Airman 1st Class Gregory Adams Squadron: 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron Job: Inventory technician Dream assignment and why? Fort Hood, Texas, to be close to family. Family: Wife, Jami Adams Favorite movie: Law Abiding Citizen Favorite food: Salmon and white rice Favorite book: "A Time To Kill" by John Grisham Who inspires you? The average "middle class" person inspires me; knowing that you can work your whole life and give it everything you've got just to survive and provide for your family. It would be too easy to quit but ... we don't. Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I see myself as a technical sergeant in the Air Force. Still happily married and a father of two. I hope to have completed my Community College of the Air Force degree and have at least a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or history. Lastly, I hope to be the owner of a rental property or two and well on my way to owning my own home. Airman 1st Class Adams came to Dover Air Force Base, Del., as a brand new, 19-year-old Airman from technical training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He hit the ground running, displaying a passion for community involvement. He served as president of Dover Airman Against Drunk Driving in 2010 and acted as the primary DAADD rep in 436 LRS. He is an active Air Force Sergeant's Association member who recently had the honor of presenting an award to a Junior Reserve Officer Training Course cadet at Middletown High School on behalf of AFSA. He has grown over the past year, becoming a seasoned material management inventory specialist. This was reflected when he processed 60 warehouse-balance-correction requests saving the Air Force $345,000, and achieving a 96 percent issue effectiveness rate. His hard work and dedication to his squadron, his wing and his command makes him a model Airman, wingman and warrior. -Master Sgt. Ron Popio 436 LRS operations and compliance flight superintendent
