Dover Air Force base to host vehicle show Published Sept. 1, 2010 By Airman 1st Class Matthew Hubby 436th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Dover Air Force Base will be hosting its 10th annual car, truck and bike show 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the AMC Museum September 11. Admission to the event is free. The event will feature car, truck, and bike displays, car clubs, music, games, food, and vendors. The show vehicles will be placed around the museum's aircraft displays. "People who have a vehicle they want to have seen can enter it into the show," said April Crampton, 436th Force Support Squadron marketing assistant. "If someone wants to enter a vehicle for display it costs $10 per vehicle, but includes a food voucher and dash plaque. The fee has to be paid before the day of the event." Vehicle display set-up will begin at 9 a.m. There will be awards in many different vehicle categories. Applications are available online at www.dover afbservices.com or by calling 677-3246. The event has already drawn in a quite a few participants. "Right now we have about 30 cars and three car clubs signed up," said Xan Salas, 436th FSS Arts and Crafts center manager. "We have a PT Cruiser club, a Corvette club and a Mustang club. We usually get a huge influx of participants right before we start though, so we're right on track. I am really looking forward to this show; we should have a great turn out."
