The Education Office completed a high-paced move to Building 261 March 15.

This move is just one phase of a larger move for offices here on Dover Air Force Base, including the First Term Airman Center, Career Assistance Advisor, Airman Leadership School and on-base college campuses.

"We love our new offices, they're much more efficient," said Robert King, 436th Force Support Squadron force development flight chief. "It's a better working environment, as we were able to give everyone a private office, so we can give our customers much more privacy now when we council them."

The facility is still in the process of being moved, but is scheduled to be back in full operation at its unified location April 1. Before the move, the facility was split between four separate buildings at least a mile apart. After the move it will be condensed into two adjacent buildings increasing the flights' abilities to serve their customers, said Mr. King.

"It's a much more efficient use of space," said Mr. King. "It's also more energy efficient because we are off the base heat plant and for now we're running on propane for heat, soon we'll be switching to natural gas. We are also one of the first facilities to be running on the new ice tank cooling system."

While the move went smoothly, it was not a simple one, and it took much coordination from several squadrons to get it completed, said Mr. King.

The move required 76 computers and around 22 phone lines moved into the new building, which required the assistance of the Communications Squadron, Civil Engineers Squadron and Contracting Squadron to complete. The colleges that work with the Education Office also footed some of the bill for a night monitor for after the classes are over, and one paid for the commercial cable being installed in the building.

"Nothing here we did alone," said Mr. King. "We all pitched in, we're all a big team here."
