Team Dover members are fighting to earn the title of Dodgeball Tournament Champions March 12 at 11 a.m. at the Fitness Center.

This lunch-time tournament is a friendly competition between Dover members of all squadrons, who can enjoy friendly competition and win some prizes.

"This gives you a chance to get away from work to participate with others in doing something fun," said Staff Sgt. Tammy Novak, 436th Force Support Squadron Fitness Center sports program manager.

Each squadron is allowed to have one team with no more than 10 players. Co-ed teams are accepted and highly encouraged. Prizes will be given to the first and second place winners.

Here's what some of the participants are saying...

436th Maintenance Squadron
"We're participating for fun - we just want to have fun, but we wouldn't mind winning," said Airman 1st Class Michael White, 436th MXS. "It's been a while since I've played dodgeball, but I'm looking forward to battling other teams. The way to win is to keep in mind that team work, as well as speed, agility and coordination of the players are important."

436th Force Support Squadron

"I love dodgeball and I'm excited to interact with other squadrons on base. This is a great chance to meet other Airmen," said Airman 1st Class Danielle Galich, 436th FSS, who is coordinating a six-man team. "I've been in dodgeball tournaments before and I think our team is going to win. It's important to work well and communicate with your team, because great strategies such as looking out for one another will help us win the game."

512th Operations Group
"We're here to redeem our name because last tournament we got creamed," said Tech. Sgt. Eric Merryman, 512th OG. "Our whole outlook on the game is about redemption. If we last more than three minutes in the game, then I'll know we're doin' well. Good luck to everyone who's playing against us - 'cause they're gonna need it."

373rd Training Squadron
"We have been training for this dodgeball event with this maintenance slogan 'if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball,'"said Staff Sgt. Stephen Hart, 373rd TRS. "No one will lose with more dignity than we will."
