A workshop to help smokers kick the habit is coming to Dover Air Force Base.

The Health and Wellness Center will be hosting the workshop Feb. 17 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the 436th Medical Group.

"We decided to host this workshop for Team Dover to help those wanting a fresh start for the New Year," said Avonda Johnson, 436th Aerospace Medicine Squadron HAWC office automation assistant. "Quitting their habit may be tough without a plan or support, that's why we're providing our Airmen with the right tools to help them succeed."

The hour-long workshop includes a presentation by a tobacco treatment specialist trained by the Mayo Clinic, as well as a former smoker who will share their story about quitting. Attendees will receive tools to help them create a personalized quitting plan.

"The goal of the clinic is to increase the overall health of Team Dover," said Ms. Johnson.

Registration is required to attend the workshop. To register visit www.freequitclinc.com or call 1-800-866-0843.

"We're hoping to see a good turn out so we can help educate and assist those who want to quit," said Ms. Johnson.
