Dec. 11, 1965
: A C-141 named the 'First State Starlifter,' completed the longest non-stop flight ever logged by a Dover-based C-141 when it flew from Yokota Air Base, Japan, to Dover Air Force Base. The aircrew completed the nearly 7,000 mile trip in 13 hours and 10 minutes.

Dec. 12, 1967: Citizens of the city of Elmendorf, Alaska, celebrated an aerial milestone when an aircrew from the 20th Military Airlift Squadron became the 10,000th C-141 crew to transit Elmendorf Air Base. The crew received a warm reception and a guided tour of the city during the celebration.

Dec. 9, 1978: The United States advised American citizens residing in Iran to leave the country due to the political instability. Two Dover C-5 Galaxys carried 140 passengers from Iran to Dover Air Force Base during this evacuation process.
