436th AW presented Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Published Nov. 10, 2009 By 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The 436th Airlift Wing has been awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for outstanding performance from Sept. 1, 2007 through Aug. 31, 2009, Air Mobility Command announced Nov. 3. Some of the Eagle Wing's accomplishments during that period include winning the 2008 Commander-in-Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence, processing and loading more than 548,000 tons of cargo, 11,000 aircraft, and 40,000 personnel to meet the warfighter's needs, orchestrating more than 100 air and ground demonstrations at the 2009 Open House for 88,000 attendees, and being the first in the Air Force to privatize the wastewater utility program, saving the American taxpayer $2 million. All Airmen assigned to the 436th AW during the award period are authorized to wear the associated ribbon. The Air Force Outstanding Unit Award is awarded to an organization that has performed meritorious service or outstanding achievements that clearly set the unit above and apart from similar units.
