436 MXS hits hard against 436 SFS Published Sept. 15, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Matthew Hubby 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The 436th Maintenance Squadron defeated the 436th Security Forces 30-16 in intramural softball Sept. 10. Even with the threat of rain and high winds making both pitching and throwing difficult, the players continued the game. The 436th MXS team started early, scoring six runs in the second inning. Following with a strong defense 436th MXS was able to keep their lead the entire game. "We made a lot of errors, but we're going to work on those and come back," said Rick Barker, 436th SFS coach. "We've played a lot of close games against MXS, so for them to beat us like this just goes to show that they wanted it just a bit more. My hat is off to them; they came out and did what they had to do, but we're not dead: We'll be back for MXS." This win will send 436th MXS on to the championship game where they will play 436th SFS.
