Team Dover sees ‘Excellent’ result of hard work Published May 1, 2009 By Staff Sgt. Chad Padgett 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Air Mobility Command evaluators released the preliminary results for two major Team Dover inspections April 27 at the Base Theater. The 436th Airlift Wing received a rating of "Excellent" on its Unit compliance inspection and the 436th and 512th Airlift Wings received a rating of "Excellent" on their combined Logistics Standardization and Evaluation Program inspection. "The purpose of the evaluations was to ensure that the 436th and 512th Airlift Wings are operating in a safe, well trained and technically competent manner that promotes a culture of functional excellence and personal responsibility," said Capt. Michael Zeigler, AMC assistant chief of the logistics assessment branch. While the inspections were a main focus for Dover, it did not slow Team Dover members from performing their missions. "During a period of record cargo movement, which impacts the entire wing, Team Dover pulled out a fantastic performance," said Col. Tom Kauth, AMC chief of the logistics assessment branch. "This is the type of unit that people dream of belonging to." After months of exercises, going over continuity books and completing task evaluations, Team Dover's excellent ratings were celebrated with a burger burn and the knowledge of a job well done. "You can't just turn into this kind of unit overnight. This is something that has been built over time -- something that has been built by every Team Dover member," said Col. Manson Morris, 436th Airlift Wing commander. "As we look forward and continue accomplishing our mission, these inspection results confirm for the American people what they already know: They are in good hands thanks to the great work you are doing every day."
