Base Leisure Travel Office expands services Published Feb. 19, 2009 By Tech. Sgt. Kevin Wallace 436th AW Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- In response to customer inquiries and requests, the 436th Force Support Squadron's Leisure Travel Office will offer several new leisure travel opportunities to military and retired customers. Effective today, the Leisure Travel Office once again offers airline travel, hotel and rental car reservations, resort reservations, cruise and tour bookings, and travel insurance. "These services used to be offered at Dover Air Force Base a number of years ago," said Christopher Smith, 436th FSS Outdoor Recreation manager. "We've had many inquiries from potential customers in the past few months and we felt this is a service we needed to bring back." The Dover AFB Leisure Travel Office will become a branch office of CWTSato Travel, a company who, according to their Web site, has more than 50 years of experience and is the nation's leading provider of travel management and fulfillment services to the government. "That means we will have access to military fares and discounted rates from a long list of preferred businesses," said Mr. Smith. "CWTSato Travel works closely with vendors to work discounted rates so we will have access to the best-possible rates for our military and retired customers." Currently, the Dover AFB Leisure Travel Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, Mr. Smith explained that due to the high traffic they expect they may consider expanding their hours or opening Saturday mornings. The Leisure Travel Office understands that active duty military members often move and, as such, are likely to purchase airline tickets to make possibly lengthy trips home, said Mr. Smith. Working under CWTSato Travel, will be able to assist servicemembers in getting the best bang for their buck in air fare by having access to active-duty military airfares whenever the airlines provide them, he said.
