CES defeats MXS 20-0 Published Nov. 19, 2008 By Staff Sgt. Chad Padgett 436th AW Public Affairs Dover Air Force Base, Del -- The 436th Civil Engineer Squadron defeated the 436th Maintenance Squadron 20-0 in their intramural flag football game Nov. 18. The game helped cement CES' second place rankings as they shut out the third ranked MXS team. "We just played a better team, we just have to come together," said Mike McDonald, MXS coach. "Things were out of synch. A lot of our normal players weren't here tonight whether for the cold or work, but we're going to be able to come back from this." The game started out with a feeling of Déjà vu with CES holding MXS at bay and then the CES quarterback throwing to Paul Jordan, CES wide receiver, for the touchdown. Then MXS was held at bay and Jordan was able to score another touchdown. "My team believed in me and I went out there ready to play," said Jordan. "We think we can compete with anyone so we're ready for all oncomers." In the second half, MXS tightened their defense, but they were still unable to stop Jordan as he would catch a third touchdown pass to cement a CES victory. Now Arvy Peters, CES Coach, will have to look out for the number one ranked 436th Aerial Port Squadron. "We only lost to them by 2 points in the first game," said Peters. "We're more cohesive now, so I think we'll be a lot better off the next time around. Everyone's got it now and once everyone's got it on the offense and the defense you have one hard to beat team."
