The 436th Civil Engineer Squadron defeated the 436th Communications Squadron 25-6 in what started as a back and forth contest but quickly turned into a one sided game due to some timely interceptions by CES.

The game started with a CES advantage when the kick off was dropped close to the endzone giving CES a short run for their first touchdown.
CS quickly rallied with a touchdown of their own, but missed the extra point, leaving the game 7 - 6.

After the next CES touchdown, Anthony Black, CES quarterback and defensive lineman, intercepted the ball just feet from the CS goal line.
"We put in a new defense and put in a new safety that worked really well," said Steven Peaper, CES coach.

Gary Stines, CS wide receiver intercepted the ball but missed scoring a touchdown by mere seconds as time ran out in the first half with him a mere five yards from the goal line.

"(CES) had to throw deep so I just watched the quarterback, he threw a pick and I almost returned it," said Stines.

In the beginning of the second half CES would score a touchdown only to intercept the ball and score the last touchdown of the game.

"We had too many penalties and missed opportunities," said Eric Hawley, CS coach. "We're good on defense, but we need to get our offense on a better tempo. The interceptions came later in the game when we were throwing deep to try and catch back up."
