Eagle Wing travelers to receive new GTC Published Aug. 13, 2008 436th Comptroller Squadron DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Government Travel Cards will soon have a new look as Citibank is replacing Bank of America as the DoD's travel-card provider in November. The expected start date to distribute new credit cards to Dover members is mid September. The current travel-card contract with Bank of America expires Nov. 29 and service will commence with Citibank Nov. 30. Servicemembers should continue using their Bank of America Cards until midnight Nov. 29. All travelers enroute during the changeover will need to carry both cards to ensure overlap. The Defense Travel System should split-disburse to the correct card based on travel dates for reimbursable items. 436th Comptroller Squadron officials anticipate a seamless transition for cardholders. However, Dover members can minimize potential inconveniences by ensuring their current mailing address is updated with Bank of America. This can be done by calling Bank of America collect at 1-800-472-1424, visiting https://www.gcsuthd.bankofamerica.com/EAGLS_selfregistration/selfReg.aspx or contacting a Squadron Agency Program Coordinator Administrator. Based on information received from Bank of America, Citibank will distribute new cards to existing cardholders. The following timeline includes key dates for the GTC transition: Sept. 16 - Dover members scheduled to begin receiving their new cards. Oct. 1 - Members should contact their Squadron Agency Program Coordinator if they have not received a new card. Nov. 29 - Members should continue to use the Bank of America travel cards until midnight. Nov. 30 -Citibank cards will be available for purchases. Dover's comptroller officials encourage travelers to contact Squadron Agency Program Coordinators anytime for assistance with their travel card. With a little situational awareness, cardholders should be able to fly through the transition without any turbulence.
