Dover to host haunted house in January Published Dec. 13, 2007 By Maj. Paul Theriot 436th AW Plans and Programs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- A haunted house in January? That's right Team Dover, a specially trained cadre will put you through a haunted house unlike any you have seen before Jan. 5 - 8! "Haunted House/Battle Ax" is actually the name of a multi-day, total-force exercise designed to refresh ability to survive and operate skills. It is one of several events in a long series designed to prepare the base for the July operational readiness inspection. The HH/BA will focus on the following specific areas of Air Force Manual 10-100, the Airman's Manual: force protection, self-aid buddy care, chemical- and biological-warfare defense, M-16 familiarization and UXO training. Each day of HH/BA will be a full-day event with instruction in the morning, followed by hands-on, scenario-driven exercises in the afternoon. The best method to prepare for this exercise is to read over the Airman's Manual, keeping focus and special attention on the above areas. The next step is to take a minute and talk to your unit deployment manager about the event. Find out who is participating from the unit and what you can personally do to get ready. There is a dedicated group working to prepare Dover for this event, and ultimately the ORI, but it will take individual effort from everyone in order to shine in July. For information, call the 436th Airlift Wing Plans and Programs office at 677-4233 or 677-3336. We look forward to seeing you after the new year at the HH/BA event!
