Winning awards and hard work is nothing new to the 436th Comptroller Squadron; as reflected in its recent recognition by Air Mobility Command.

The 436th CPTS won the Maj. Gen. Alfred K. Flowers Financial Management Comptroller Organization of the Year for 2013 and the financial services flight was recognized as the Financial Services Office of the Year for the second-time-in-a-row.

"These awards are a reflection of our performance and successful mission accomplishments," said Maj. William Vivoni, 436th CPTS commander. "It justifies that we are doing the right thing financially in paying the Airmen of Dover AFB and meeting the 436th Airlift Wing's mission. It's pretty cool to be the best in Air Mobility Command."

The financial services flight received the Financial Services Office of the Year from AMC because of its dedication to the job said 2nd Lt. Carrie Dean, 436th CPTS deputy commander of the financial services flight.

"It is exciting and is largely due to how hard our Airmen work," said Dean. "We have a huge number of transactions. Last year, we processed 10,700 transactions with an accuracy rate above 98 percent, because of our Airmen's dedication."

Senior Airman Zydet Short, 436th CPTS audit certifier, said the flight's achievement this year was a result of its dedication to improvement and caring for its customers.

"This year we made changes to the way the office is set up to allow for more attention to detail and improve our customer support," said Senior Airman Zydet Short, 436th CPTS audit certifier. "These awards show how much we care about the job we do and the customers we support."

Winning these awards will not change how the squadron performs its duties said Vivoni.

"We need to continue providing the outstanding financial decision support to wing leadership and continue to provide the best pay support to our Airmen," said Vivoni. "While we continue the outstanding performance, we need to find areas that we can improve to continue our outstanding financial support to Team Dover."

With customer satisfaction in the forefront of their minds, Vivoni said teamwork is the reason for their success.

"I provided CPTS with the tools, resources and guidance to meet the mission," said Vivoni. "But, I didn't make this happen, it was the Airmen of the Comptroller Squadron that made it happen. CPTS is like a football team and I am the old head coach calling the plays, they are scoring the touchdowns and this award is like winning the Super Bowl. We all get to carry the trophy, but they were the ones to make it happen."
