Game one
The 436th Medical Group remained scoreless through five innings of play in game one of Dover's intramural softball championship series against the 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron. The Medics had managed to get six batters on base but only one of their runners reached second. The Loggies did not fair any better, scoring only one run in the third inning.

Jim Foltz, the Medics' first baseman, was the first to bat in the sixth inning. He sent a grounder bouncing down the third baseline and made it safely to first. He was moved to second for free on a walk by LRS pitcher John Bader.

The next batter, Clarence Lundeen, MDG catcher, tied up the game when he sent a ball skidding past second and drove home a runner.

Then the Medics shortstop Sydney Stigall, stepped up to the plate and struck out swinging. He earned his team their first out of the inning.

David Beling, MDG right fielder, took his turn at bat and drove a run home off of a grounder to second. He gave the Medics the lead for the first time in the game.

The medics had a man on first and second when Craig Satchell, MDG pitcher, swung his bat. Satchell, who had an injured right ankle, was unable to make it to first before he was tagged out. However, he did drive in a run increasing the Medics lead.

MDG scored one more time before the end of the inning and entered the seventh and final inning leading 4 - 1.

The Medics won the game 6 - 2 in seven innings.

The MDG lost to LRS twice in the regular season and once in the playoffs. The Loggies knocked the Medics into the loser's bracket Aug. 15.

Game two
The second game of the night got off to a quicker start than game one. The Loggies posted two runs in the second inning and one in the third. The Medics crossed the plate once in the second.

The Medics made their run in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs and taking the lead, 5 - 3.

Wayne Smith, MDG center fielder, was the first to bat in the fourth. He singled on a line drive between the Loggies shortstop and third baseman.

Smith was pushed home on a ground ball sent down the third baseline by Jim Foltz, the MDG first baseman.

Ron Bernardin, MDG left fielder, made it to second base and sent two runners home on a line drive past the LRS shortstop.

The last run the Medics scored in the fourth was on a sacrifice fly from Sidney Stigall who sent a pop up to left-center field and Clarence Lundeen, MDG catcher, scored.

In the fifth, the Medics crossed the plate three more times making the score 9 - 3.

In the sixth inning, MDG added three more runs to their total. Sidney Stigall, Larence Kirby and Brandon McIver all touched home plate.

Kirby pinch hit for the injured Craig Satchell and McIver was the pinch runner for Winfert Gray, who injured his knee earlier in the season.

The Loggies scored two runs in the seventh inning including an infield home run from Kyle Dourty, LRS shortstop, but it wasn't enough to hold the Medics.

The last play of the game was a double play. Beck Lester, LRS left fielder, hit a ground ball to Medic's pitcher Craig Satchell, who then tossed the ball to Sidney Stigall, MDG shortstop. Stigall sent a rocket to MDG first baseman Jim Foltz who touched the bag for the out.

The Medics won 13 - 5.
