Taking control of your financial future is not necessarily the easiest thing in the world for most Airmen, whether it is budgeting, credit management, financial aid for college, or simply trying to be financially responsible. But there is now a new office located on base that has the sole purpose of helping Airmen with their money.

Available for all Delaware constituents, $tand By Me: the Delaware Financial Empowerment Partnership, is a collaborative program run by the State of Delaware and the United Way of Delaware. The program has been operating an office on base since February and offers free financial counseling and coaching to all Team Dover personnel, including civilians and their families.

In this new office, you can find Nathaniel Horsey, $tand By Me financial coach, whose sole task is to help Team Dover Airmen on base that need financial guidance. Horsey, who himself is a 15 year U.S. Army veteran, understands the ins-and-outs of being a service member and the unique economic issues other service members may face.

Horsey stated that he is available for all sorts of financial services, including: personal financial coaching, budgeting and credit, college and financial aid and learning how to navigate the system.

Personal financial coaching is a one-on-one relationship with a coach that can help you figure out and identify your financial goals and map out a plan to achieve them.

This program has also offered several monthly workshops that have been organized through Leadership Pathways on the Enterprise Information Management site.

"I'm looking forward to working with the Airmen on base," said Horsey. "All of our services are free."

The $tand By Me office is located on base in Building 263, Room 203. For an appointment, call Nathaniel Horsey at (302) 632-8679. For additional information, visit their website at www.standbymede.org.
