Marine Corps Base Hawaii
Oct. 22, 2018 | 0:27
A CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, Marine Aircraft Group 24, provides on scene awareness for a downed civilian helicopter that made an emergency landing on the sandbar in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Oct. 22, 2018. The helicopters were in the area conducting routine operations when notified by the Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Air Traffic Control Tower that a civilian aircraft had fallen off of their radar. Marine Corps Base Hawaii also launched watercraft to assist with the rescue if needed. U.S. Marines in Hawaii stand ready to respond during any time of crisis; from local assistance and disaster relief to supporting our partners and allies throughout the Indo-Pacific.
